Chevrolet COPO Camaro Convertible in Inferno Orange Shown at 2012 SEMA

One year ago, Chevrolet was unveiling the COPO Camaro concept at the SEMA show, offering the world an out-of-the-box NHRA Stock Eliminator drag racer.

Chevy also likes to reminds us of the drag strip at this year's edition of the aftermarket event, so it has included an Inferno Orange Copo Camaro Convertible in its line-up.

Chevy is only building 69 Copo Camaro racers this year an this is the only example that uses a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic gearbox, which works with a 327 ci V8 engine and a 4.0L supercharger that delivers an NHRA-certified 550 hp.

This is also one of the only two convertibles built and we'll also remind you that just 12 vehicles are finished in Inferno Orange, while the rest use Summit White, Victory Red, Black, Ashen Grey Metallic and Silver Ice Metallic.

No, there's no need to go through an inferno (pun intended) to get your hands on one now - Chevy originally announced that it would only build 69 COPO Camaros, but the strong demand convinced the carmaker to double the number, so we'll get an additional 69 next year.
